NEW BANNER
at
10:00 AM
If you had been here recently you may notice I have changed by banner. Usually I have HEATHER'S BRAIN up there and something about my brain spilling out etc. Well these guys are my reasons for just about everything and so I have decided to put them up there front and center with an updated photo.
I am enjoying this very much (I am learning to play!) Next I hope to be able to add shadows and pop to the look. Any hints or tips I sure could use them!
What are you working on? Be sure to let us link back to your page so we can see you projects!

Home School Resources
at
6:42 AM
I am preparing for the upcoming year and thought I might share a view of the things I use.
Please share some of your tips or resources with us too!
Homeschool Tracker:
This is a free tracking system for keeping your lesson plans and attendance and so much more. The PLUS! edition is filled with all you need to plan out goals and keep track of all progress for all your students and all their education through high school including credit hours! If you need to keep detailed records in your state, or you just want a detailed transcript for high school, it is worth EVERY penny!
*my experience...I originally just did the free version for the first year. Then I spoke with the creator about what I wanted to be able to do and it was all in the PLUS! version. So I bought it. I got the CD in the mail so I didn't have to worry about losing it, backing it up, or waiting for a download. You get a code with it, that allows you all the upgrades forever. So I have the current edition for the price I paid way back then!
***If you decide to purchase please use this referral code when prompted: Y38J2
Rainbow Resource Center Inc:
Nearly all curriculum in one place!
What a joy it has been for my sanity (all in one place) and my pocket book (discounted!) to have this resource. Everything in one place to browse though, read reviews of products and so on. (The paper catalogue is over 3 inches thick!) I have saved myself from disastrous purchases thanks to this site. I have also saved a couple hundred dollars buying from them over the years. They usually have samples of the items to view so this has helped me decide something without spending the money! I have spent hours hunting various websites to find the same item for less and it just always turns out that I get it here! They are just always less it seems!
*NOTE: combine orders with friends and save! If you are not planning on spending $150 in one order, get together with others near you that may want to order too. This will get you all free shipping!
ChristianBook.com:
For everything I can not find in the above link, I come looking for it here. When they have a sale they beat RRC prices but do not offer free shipping so take that into effect. The best part for me has been the wish list features that both sites offer. This way I can keep track of them and see them on sale when I check back!
*Right now they have a sale going on, it seems like all my fav's are there!
Donna Young:
Wow! What a place to gather all the forms and goodies all for FREE! She even offers a CD (for a price) of all the forms too, so you can get to them without the web. This is where I got printables for Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons that helped the T Man learn to read! Need a Kindergarten, Middle School, or High school diploma? Menu plan? Blank calendar? Handwriting sheets? Daily household chore charts? Do you need help teaching spelling, science or English? This is a countless source, you must check out for yourself!
*my experience: Keep this bookmarked, you will go back to it over and over! I use it in every aspect of my day not just home schooling!
Book Adventure:
What an exciting way to motivate the kids to read, get a grasp of their comprehension and reward them for their efforts in a SAFE PLACE! I love this site for it's ease of use and the fact that we can print off a list of books to take with us to the library then know that there is a test on them to earn points - it is just what the boys are after. The fact that I can even offer my own rewards for them let's me personalize it for each child. I love that motivation tool! A simple process for you to sign them up (and yourself to link them to you) and then the kids are off and reading.
*my experience: D Bug was never much of a reader. He actually told me he HATED it! After just one visit to this site and taking just two quizzes on books we read together, he is now picking up books and making sure he can take tests on them! I am impressed that he actually asked to begin chapter books and bought TWO with his own money!
I suppose that is all of my vast knowledge in this area. Let me know what you would recommend to help out this year!

A picture day...
at
2:47 PM
So here are a couple of shots of our vacation....
This is the boys and I waiting for our very late plane! Notice the mountains int he back round...NOW YOU KNOW WHY I LIVE IN MT!
The cousins in the truck. They spent a lot of time in there. One thing different about being in the valley of the sun vs. Montana is the fact that we had to drive for a LONG time to get anywhere!

There weren't too many activities that we got pictures of but this one is what DBug did most of his time there! ZZzzzzz

There are more pictures but this is all my computer will let me do for now.
Hope you like them.
